I will never understand why you eat your undies, no matter how often you explain it to me.

a pretty poor 90 minutes. Confidence is obviously low. Still a clean sheet is a clean sheet. \no goals and no much to shout about as my dad used to say. Hopefully we can kick on from here.

Couple of points:-

Flood was bookedafter a challenge on Callum Davidson. Flood had been warned just a minute or two before for a similar type challenge on the ssame player. Both happened right in front of where I sit. In both incidents Flood made no actual contact with Davidson yet the Saints player played for it and got Flood booked. I hate seeing a pro get a fellow pro in trouble.

Sandaza's diving in the box was just that. Deserved booking.

I thought that it was average game, we could have won, had a few chances, but not quite good enough. They were as expected, orgainsed and difficult to play against with a threat up front. We just about managed to hold our long enough at times, but overall, looked a lot more secure.

Gunning was very good, pace is a life saver at times, and won the ball a lot from their big striker, as well as tidying up with anything loose. Kenneth still seems to be a bit wayward and caught out, but nothing catastropic. Watson was decent going forward, few good crosses today for a change.

Midfield didn't really do much. Little creative play from them, but they worked hard enough, Robertson and Douglas far too sloppy in possession a lot, Russell didn't do anything of note when he came on. Hard working, but nothing at the end of it performance from Flood and Rankin, whose desire to shoot from 40 yards given any chance is beginning to frustrate.

Daly was poor. Out jumped by everyone, including 5'8 full backs, and no real threat to goal. That said, he seemed to acutally get on better with Dalla Valle who looked like he was much more alert and strong than usual. Held the ball up better than Daly, and some good positions in the box, but nothing came off.

Pernis was solid.

Subs didn't change anything really.

Ref was a bit naive at times, I agree that Davidson played him well to get Flood booked, and Sandaza was probably just a slight bit of contact away from getting a penalty, but good to see him not give it.

Overall, some positives, but still work to do on getting everyone working as a unit. It seemed to go better as a 442, but that was against another rigid 442.

Same team should beat Falkirk.

A poor 90 minutes of football yesterday. Hard to believe that thse 2 teams shared 6 goals last time they met. Not many games i go to just now and yesterdays game wont have me eager to get back.

I think United were missing Goodwillie yesterday and Conway.

3 pages about the United match yesterday but 6 pages about Rangers financial problems. So you care more about Rangers problems than Uniteds. If United lose next week and Inverness win we could go to the bottom.
I could see United getting relegated this season.

What's there left to say, Gordon? We've a dull team picked from an uninspiring squad that's playing mundane football in a much-of-a-muchnness league. Some of us may feel surprised or enraged by this. Most of us, however, have listened to the chairman over the past year or so and know that mediocrity was the most we should expect.

I dare say the anger's being channelled more efficiently elsewhere. Here, however, we seem to be taking the more grown-up approach of quiet resignation, and huzzah for that.

This.

I was there yesterday, and can barely muster a 'meh'.

Any one of us, with a modicum of football knowledge, can see we're shite. The burning issue is not where we improve (as we all have an opinion on that), but if anyone at united knows the same.

The team's going through a bad time. It makes more sense to poke fun at a hated club's own problems.

That said, we kept a clean sheet, and while the performance may not have been great, the clean sheet is important, in the context of the horror defensive shows lately.

Also, in the context of losing four important players in Goodwillie, Conway, Buaben and Gomis, it's not that bad. Give the guys a break, for f*ck sake. It's getting like the George Fox in here.

While I think everyone is accepting of lower standards and expectations, there's a lot of mixed messages and cheap excuses thrown around by the manager at times. At the start of the season, it was young players are going to get a game, it's the future. Now, he's practically saying that they're not good enough at times. Talking about his options on the bench yesterday for example.

While we've some problems clearly, I don't think we're in a really terrbile way. Bring back dillon when fit and our defence will be more secure and we'll lose less goals, and things will seem better.

united denied a stonewall penalty in the 2nd half. st johnstone keeper comes for a cross, doesnt make it and absolutely clatters douglas. I agree with goalkeepers getting a bit extra protection when it comes to cross balls, but they still have the same responsibility to judge a challenge as everyone else and should be punished for when they get it wrong. not only was it a foul, but it was reckless and dangerous.

Nah. Ball was past him. Accidental collision, and didn't change the outcome.

Type "Dalla Valle" into Google and it suggests "Dalla Valle miss".
