I just looked at the SPL table and my considered reaction is "f*cking hell, we're 8 points behind St Johnstone and the clocks haven't even changed yet!" |

I've just looked at the table and noticed Dunfermline are a point behind us. With a game in hand. I'm afraid. Very afraid. |

If yer going to leave allan out for weeks you don't bring him back by putting him in yer starting line up whilst leaving your defence vunerable by playing Flood at rb. When did Flood last stop a cross coming over? |

From the goals, seems to be set pieces that done us, and a mistake from pernis after a more poor defending from set piece. If we can get organised at set pieces again, then it'd stop a lot of the leaking defence and give us a chance. With Daly, Gunning and Kenneth in there, we should be winning a lot more. Nice united goal though, another nice assist from armstrong, hopefully dalla valle keeps on scoring too. |

I see Swanson's out for a few weeks too. That'll hurt us. |

Wouldn't particularly blame Flood for much individually. Collectively the defence looked a bit flatt footed and hesitant. I don't know, should you be on your toes in the six yard box or on your heels. |

Watched the beeb for the highlights there and i've got a novel suggestion- get the players to play better. Put simply, if our coaching staff can not get our defence to defend better than that, then they're not worth a wage. our defending of set pieces is absolutely disgraceful. It's been happening over a long enough period, and we've shipped enough goals to see that its clearly something that must be sorted, yet I watch the weekends game on tv there and I see defending i'd be pissed off with at amateur level. Seriously what is going on? Corners- we've been playing zonal defending for a long time now and the thing it's success hinges on is having players that are good at attacking the ball and winning it. if you win your challenges and can defend your territory then stopping the opposition (i.e marking them) is not something you have to worry about. We have seen thats not happening. The Aberdeen players get a free run onto the cross, beat a weak challenge and when the second ball comes out theres a good 4 united players that are completely flat footed and not ready to react. and surprise surprise, the Aberdeen boy is first to it. I dont think we have enough players that are confident and strong at getting up to win the first header to play zonal marking. I'd like to go man for man. every player has their responsibility- the player you're marking doesnt get to the ball. Things as they are definitely aren't working. The second goal is also shocking. Theres only two players plus Pernis that make any kind of effort to get onto the ball, and they were both SSBs. United had more than enough bodies defending that so to have only the Aberdeen boys in the box attacking it is simply awful. Pernis doesnt cover himself in glory here, or with the 3rd goal. Really concerning me, as up until this season he had looked the best goalkeeper that I'd ever seen play for united (I'm 82). He's making several mistakes just now though and they are costing us goals. I'd drop him and give someone else a shot. Give Pernis a chance to refocus and hopefully come back as the quality goalkeeper he is. We are losing shitloads of goals. Doesnt take a genius to see where they're coming from. Earn your money houston, FFS get it sorted! |

It's the complete lack of responsibility that's so embarassing and enraging to watch. After almost every single goal these days, you'll see the whole defence strike a poke and look at the person nearest them. Dixon looks at Kenneth, Kenneth looks at Watson, Watson looks at Pernis, Pernis looks at them all... then Kenneth turns red and boots the ball into the roof of the net. It's pathetic, and one of those motherf*ckers better grow a spine and start taking charge. |
