I'd like a bit more info on Lallydallavally, if possible ta very much. Is there anything to suggest yet that he's better than what we've already got?
I thought he was a bit crap tonight, I have to say. The team seemed a wee bit casual to me, although a win is a win and they were never in any real danger, despite the odd brain fart from Kenneth. Still, a win is a win, and getting to laugh at Aberdeen's latest mishap in a cup competition is an added bonus.

What happened to Robertson? Disguised as Armstrong?

Anyway, it was routine for half an hour, fairly dodgy for fifteen minutes, then half time, dodgy again for a bit, followed by easy after Daly scored. I almost wanted them to get a late consolation after their fans applauded GMS onto the pitch, but not to be.

Very cold.

Dalla Valle seemed to have the wrong boots on or something. Spent half the game on his arse. Booked for blocking a free kick from about six inches away with five minutes left, so doubtless he'll get another booking in the semi and miss the final. In the absence of Russell he's worth having around. He does look like he has a useful turn and shot thing going on. Cannae head the ball to save his life though.

I thought Gunning looked pretty good, which is a change for me. The way he holds his arms when he runs does make him look little like a T. Rex (being charitable) or a chicken (not so charitable).

Aberdeen's plight fair brightened the trip home though. You have to laugh at their fans calling in to complain about being the laughing stock of Scottish football. You have to laugh because they are right.

I think it was probably a bit better than the rubbish I said earlier, but it wasn't the most entertaining second half, and way too cold for September.

Could have easily been 1-1 end of first half, they had a torres style miss around the keeper a few crosses that someone should have been on the end of.

But we did pass the ball well enough around the middle and back mostly.

Dalla Valle - he had a partner today, but didn't look that much different when when he's been running around on his own. Not very effective. Daly did well when came on, good goal and better retention of the ball up front.

Douglas had a stinker. Did play in about 3 positions, none of them his preferred position to be fair, but his passing was poor, and he kept trying to throw his weight around but without any intelligence. Which was the oppposite of Armstrong, who played well, but had no presence. Must have ran past about 4 players in setting up first goal, which was good, plenty bursts of what he can do, but plenty of times he didn't really get involved.

Swanson was good, , nice link up with Flood on the right. Defence was a bit shakey between Flood and Kenneth, but survived.

Dow did ok, not huge impact, but wasn't bad. MackyStevens had few good crosses later in the day.

Ref was fine, can't remember anything he did.

Overall, dull but effective.

Harsh. He was never getting it on from that angle.

Dow seemed to manage. But wide on wrong foot for airdrie player was a bit harder I guess. Still, would have expected to hit target.

Sounded like like a dour drab game, but utd grinded out a result where as utd teams in years gone by would have stumbled. Sounds like that almost happened last night before the killer second goal. I heard Kenneth sliced (to the extent where he almost missed the ball) a clearance straight into the path of an Airdrie player creating a gilt edged scoring chance. I hope they show highlights at half time on the live BBC1 game tonight. I wish Kenneth would stop doing that pish.
Anyway, roll on saturday.
