Resurgent Hibs, leaping off the foot of the table after a glorious draw at Dunfermline, are surely the one team we don't want to meet right now.

OK, now this is our next game.

I quite fancy us for this one. Mostly due to Hibs' failings than our strengths, and also to exacerbate the rather desperate situation Hibs find themselves in, having emplyed Edinburgh's Billy Brown. Presumably he gets danger money for acting as a human shield in protection of Colin Calderwood?

2-0 Utd, without question.
O'Connor has looked threatening of late but the Hibs midfield is so pish can't see him getting much service.

I know Hibs are pish, but I still worry. Mainly about Garry O'Connor. Also have a feeling Griffiths will score, which is more out of paranoia than anything he's actually done at any point. As I work with many Hibs fans, this is the game I fear above all others.

ETA - although said Hibs fans are all convinced Rankin will score against them, so I guess it all evens out.

Hibs to emerge from the tunnel dressed in Warlocks' robes, appearing to float chllingly to the semi-circle, quickly commanding a deathly silence. Suddenly, Ivan Sproule de-hoods and thrusts his finger towards the opposing end - seven thousand heads spin sharply to see a distant figure... Only John Rankin stands before the goal, eyes fixed on the group of demons summoning him. He instantly de-robes to show a Hibs top rippling in the silent wind. The crowd stifle seven thousand gasps of horror...

John steps forward. The clouds have turned a deep shade of red.

With one hand he tears down the green and white strip from his shoulder and throws its lifeless carcass into a crumpled stain on the floor. Then he calmly stretches a fresh United jersey over his head and smooths it into his shorts. His arms fall to his sides once again, and when he turned his back to walk proudly over to his onlooking team-mates at the tunnel, the top cried "Rankin - 11". Rankin. 11.

Rankin. 11.

United humbled by Hibs in a 7-1 thriller.

If O' Connor plays for 90 minutes they win by scoring more goals than we will. 2-1 Hibs-they've recovered at just the wrong time for us.

Nah. Football is a cruel game. This is a false dawn for the sherbet dibs with their fans discovering on Saturday just how cruel it can be.
I'm going for a 1-0 United victory. But the manner of the win will be so emphatic that all the fan's cup cheer will have evaporated by 4.45pm on Saturday.

I think it's too hard to tell. Our form is up and down, our injuries and suspensions mean disrupted team lineup and Hibs seem to be a bit random too.

So a dull 0-0.

Right.
There's a game tomorrow this afternoon.
Which will probably take place without Scott Allan.
Any more takers?
