We failed to snatch failure from the jaws of glory - progress!

Bannan was excellent, hopefully that keeps that neanderthal fud Brown out of the side. Now we just need this mob to do us a favour against the Czechs, or for us to run riot in Spain :banjmp:
Bannan replaced Adam, so not sure if he would get in ahead of Brown. He did look much more useful though. Great pass for the goal; brilliant. He's also not a reckless idiot who's likely to jump in recklessly.

Think two up rather than one up would be better, especially against teams like this.

Eh, I may be going against the grain on two fronts here* but I thought Bannan's final ball was complete garbage, and Lithuania took a dive.

The back 5 I would exclude, but their entire midfield and forward line were on the take tonight.

The final ball that set up the goal, you mean?

There's more to play than a final ball. Unless you mean his passing was shit, in which case each misplaced pass is a final ball.

He spent the whole game being given opportunities to produce a good decisive ball (that more to your liking, Eggfart?) and got a terrible %age right.

Against a team that I sincerely don't think were trying (how else is a bankrupt bank supposed to survive if not betting against the national team which they effectively employ?) that's pretty poor. And I was a big fan of Bannan from what I saw last season for Villa.

I'm pretty sure Cowie replaced Adam, he seemed to be sitting deep, and Bannan replaced the more central Brown. Either way, I hope that's Bannan in and Brown out.

heehee...... :hit:

hugely impressed by bannan tonight, easily scotlands best player on the night and has definitely got to be considered for starting the next qualifier now. comfortable on the ball, great vision and a great left peg, and several great deliveries into the box. caldwell, goodie, berra and naismith (several) all had chances to score from his crosses.

scotland should've won by three goals, wasteful finishing stopped us. lithuania were absolutely honking, as they were last time we played them. how they beat the czechs away i dont know.

goodwillie was a bit hit and miss tonight, but the experience can only benefit him for the future.

Well if you rearrange the letters of his surname, it reads "Na, na. BN"

That's great. So it does.

Anyway - Lithuania tried to lose that game tonight. I'm serious.

Anyone think otherwise?

The penalty save was in the game a couple of hours ago.

It wasn't a good penalty.

It was a completely mental penalty to concede.

I didn't say the back 5 or the ref were in on it. What I am saying is that the Lithuanian midfield and attack were chucking that game. Seriously.
