And why has Severin not been mentioned either?

Maybe he will accept a new contract.

After being forced to sit through angelas ashes once, I avoid any film set in ireland. United's finances aren't that bad.
Unnecessarily avoiding all Irish product based on one sample, absolving an odious man of his crimes due to having a pop at the Pope - it's all coming together now Set isn't it........?

You're Tim Minchin aren't you?

What about that orange-haired Irish girl (is that preferable, Yassar?) on X Factor with the "unique" singing voice exactly like Dolores from the Cranberries? There's another reason to eschew all art from Ireland.

And Dana. And Daniel O'Donnell. And if they're still claiming the Pope there's another.

I am pleased to see you omitted Johnny Logan from that list of Eireism.

Say what you want about him, but he could hold a note for longer than most people could be bothered to do.

I think she's a whispering, pseudo-Anglican waste of vaginal tissue attempting to counterfeit more current artists such as Ellie Goulding or Diana Vickers. But that's not to say she isn't an unknowing second-generation counterfeit of Dolores.

I don't think the whole of Ireland would claim the Pope, with "Pope" just being a position in a religious movement which 25% of Ireland practise.

The Commitments, The Van, Angelas Ashes, Waking Ned, The Wind That Shakes The Barley, Intermission, Adam and Paul...

There's a "Pope" sex position, isn't there? Tell me there is. I don't need to know any of the details.

The Wind That Shakes The Barley was good, made by well-known paddy Ken Loach. Acht, I'm only joking, I love Ireland and the Irish. I would've let you claim Father Ted as well.

It's the Pope I can't f*cking stand. Him and his evil religion built on lies and fear.

25%? Seems a bit low to me.

According to this site, 84% say they go to church regularly (includes Protestants as well), but just going on that, it looks a fair bit more than 1 in 4.

Churchies

Edit: Not sure those figures stack up. I remember reading recently that in terms of Christianity in the UK, less than a million people go on a weekly basis. So about a million out of what, 30 million people capable, isn't 27%.

So, football finances.
Jonathan Freedland's got an interesting take on it as a metaphor for our times.
At a more basic level, it also sums up why I'm rapidly losing interest...

Finally, inevitably, you've reached the point where you're having an argument with yourself.
I knew this day would come, Eggy.

Me too, when I think about it.
Isn't it depressing when you don't come out on top?
