Seems like Stevie-T must have got some change out of the bank when depositing the Goodrooy cash in the bank after all if we've now signed a loanee in Dalla Valle.

How is everyone feeling about our financial state generally? There was a dispiritingly stupid thread on East regarding how much the Thomson family owe us that elevated eventually into some sense via hysteria, merger talk and, well, more stupidity.

I'd rather not get my screen dirty reading their muck.

Not sure much has changed. It seems to always a pessimistic viewpoint from the club, which is fine. I'm happier with it now than when we were spending obviously too much, and it badly. The point about money spent on mistakes is a reasonable one, paying off players and managers is massively frustrating, the total's must be pretty large in comparison to current budgets and wage offers etc.

Despite them having no money and constantly being a month away from administration, Rangers did seem to have ability to spend just enough to get enough sucess to keep things good, such a Jelavic. However much they paid, it seemed worth it.

Have you ever seen The Magdalene Sisters? It's about three girls sent to work in a theocratic asylum for "fallen women" in Ireland. It's two solid hours of punishment, both for the characters and the audience. Whenever there's even the briefest moment of happiness or light relief, a motherlode of grimness waits to land in the very next scene. Watching it is like being punched in the face by a man who, whenever you think he might stop punching you in the face, proceeds to punch you even harder in the face.

Hearing about United's finances is like watching The Magdalene Sisters.

After being forced to sit through angelas ashes once, I avoid any film set in ireland. United's finances aren't that bad.

Seems like our squad is set to need a bit of a refresh if Robertson, Kenneth, Dixon & Pernis all leave for nothing in the summer.

How thoroughly depressing, sounds like nothing's changed strategy wise at the club since we had this discussion in March about Gomis, Buaben and Conway all leaving for nothing. :smack:

The last season of Gomis, Buaben and Conway wasn't their best by far. If we can expect the same from the current out of contract players, then getting a good run of form might be a challenge. Last year, we had a fair few players who were going be here next year, this time, we're quite dependant on the ones leaving.

I don't buy a season ticket, but if I did, I'd be f*cked if I'd be buying one next year. We appear to have all but given up.

Here - why wasn't Swanson listed in the article? Too obvious he's going as well?

And why has Severin not been mentioned either?

Maybe he will accept a new contract.
