I'm playing L.A. Noire at the moment, so I'm right in the mix for hats, old 'automobiles' and casual white anglo-saxon hegemony.

Anyone else playing it? It's brilliant.
No PC version, Micky :fisted: It looks a little 'interactive movie'-ish rather than 'game with movie-like qualities', can you allay these fears?

Yeah, that's a fair assessment, but there is quite a bit of driving, chasing and shooting perps to do as well. It's definitely not GTA, and can thus feel a wee bit restrictive, but once you immerse in it, get a feel for the characters and setting, it's phenomenal.

A few forums I've read go on about it being 'on-rails', but then people expected it to be 'open world' like GTA, which it's clearly not. And the facial animation thing has to be seen to be believed, it's utterly convincing.

I thought this was going to be a thread about the classic Blue Nile album of 89, but it's been very impressive all the same.

The series of Colour stills and some movies from the early part of the 20th century that was on BBC a couple of years back was great too, wasn't it? Albert Kahn, that was the guy (having swiftly googled him slightly wrongly and been met with deluges of naughty-IMF-boss news) .

Don't care much for hats on my head either, for much the same reason as Whatsthat. I have big hair, me.

Ah, yes. Here's the one that's been lodged in my mind:

First thought: what the f*ck?
Turned to Google.
Found: "Mongolian woman condemned to die by starvation".
Noted the plates scattered around the box, just out of her reach.
Second thought: what the f*ck.

I've got it, and it hasn't grabbed me. The questions (true, doubt, false) - or rather so called right answers - usually don't make sense. Great environment, acting, etc, but Cole seems too much like Tom Hagen for me, and not convincing as a Detective.

This is a dangerous topic a web site I used to visit ended soon after a debate about hats, second only to the old muslim/catholic/ proddy/pagan worship, Hats are the most divisive topic among humans.

Hats are a religion you are either for them or against them the final human battle will be between hat men and non hat men.

Hat men ruled until the whole hippy thing in the 60's they are on the down at the momment but they will come back and you don't want to see what they will come back with fear

it is only the begining

You're right though, Clarkie, about hats being the harbinger of the human holocaust. Which side will you be on?

Now, I saw some kind of like this today. Kind of a similar size, but less straw-hatty and more of a canvasy thing.... (I briefly walked past them on the street)

But I think I prefer something more along this line (in terms of size and sturdiness):

Mixed with something like this (for some comfort and cool):

Where does one find such a thing? :hat:

Well, number 1 is a trilby and number three is a fedora. (Number 2 looks Australian, possibly a Tilly, so let's not speak of it again.) I have a proper Fedora I bought in Madrid a few years back, so perhaps try there. I also had a really excellent trilby from The New York Hat Company that I lost in the Breckon Beacons the Hogmanay before last, so perhaps try there too.

(I'm pro hat.)

So, Madrid for a Fedora and Breckon Beacons for lost hat :piper:

Murdoch is also pro hat.
