You want Scotland to win, because you're Scottish.

Can you tell me what "communal empathy via personification" means in real terms?
Communal empathy = forming emotions based on what happens to a group you feel part of, but have no direct influence over.
Personification = framing that emotion as if a landmass was a person.

I'm Scottish, by dint of being born inside its borders and living there for 20-odd years, yet I don't care whether Scotland wins or loses. Is that wrong?
You don't care whether Scotland wins or loses v Brazil, or period?

Do you find yourself egging Scotland on at all when watching the team play?

Period. I guess I'd like Levein to succeed, so perhaps I'd favour Scotland in most matches, but it's a marginal thing no different to watching Italian league or Sunday morning pub teams.

Speaking of periods: Jenny McCarthy's the obvious GILF. And Sarah Palin, I guess, though that'd be largely for novelty.

It's not wrong. I'm not sure if you're being totally honest (with us, or with yourself), however. If Scotland won the World Cup, you wouldn't feel a thrill?

How about the communal empathy thing for Dundee United? It's not nationalism, but it's a group you feel part of, while having no direct influence over. Or do you not care whether Dundee United win or lose?

this f*cking grandmother law.
Ewwww....
Although there are some grandmothers...
Is Helen Mirren a grandmother?

Bikini
Dame Helen Mironoff would certainly be in contention! I kinda get the feeling she'd f*ck you rather than you f*cking her, which I like.

With Sarah Palin, again I think that's a solid yes, but instead you would take over and throw her about like an empty trackie to get that power thrill

Levein has named his starting XI

Scotland: McGregor (Rangers), Hutton (Tottenham Hotspur), G Caldwell (Wigan), Berra (Wolverhampton Wanders), Crainey (Blackpool), Adam (Blackpool), Brown (Celtic), Morrison (West Brom), McArthur (Wigan Athletic), Whittaker (Rangers), Miller (Bursaspor)

3 old firm,1 Turkish super league and the rest premiership regulars (well maybe not Mcarthur)

Not a terrible line-up, bar half the defence and midfield and strike-force. Will be interesting to see what Adam and Morrison can do. Whittaker is, I'm assuming, on the wing.

4-2-3-1 Barca style, Brown and McArthur holding, Adam in the middle, Whittaker and Morrison on the wings? Or more likely 9-0-1 punts up to 'The Labrador'?

Yup, not embarrassing - about the best that could be said for it. Can't say I was riveted to it. In fact I barely watched it. But it was on and I was in the room, so that counts, doesn't it?

Message to the Scotland players and Craig Levein -: More time is needed practising your football skills, not golfing, when you go to places like La Manga.

Again, 'embarrassing' probably not the right word, so I'll plump for 'hilarious' (in a funky skillo type fashion).

It was like 10 bulls v 10 matadors, except the bulls were particularly docile. The valium wore off as the 2nd half arrived, but then tiredness set it not long after. Kenny Miller - for all the labradoring you do on absolute lost causes that you never recover, how about actually bothering your arse to make an intelligent move when Adam has the chance to play you through 1v1? Fishmonger.

Pass marks to Morrison (the only one who didn't play scared) and the Caldwell oaf.

MVP to that potty-mouthed bird in the green holdup.

Harsh guys. I thought they did okay. It was Brazil they were playing after all. The team looked solid, organised and worked hard, which is all you can ask for sometimes.

Lucus has been seen picking up a banana.

All I want regarding the match itself, is for our players to be able to pass well, control a ball, work hard and show a bit of tactical nous. How many of the players achieved all 4? It as an international march afterall. We seemed to spend a large part of the match dribbling the ball towards our own goal (for instance, McArthur). Why?

They were trying to be brave and retain possession under pressure. I would have thought that much at least would have been obvious. It has been a running theme under Levein's teams for years.

It wasn't enough, of course, largely because Brazil have much better players than Scotland.

1 banana and apparently an 'atmosphere or racism'? Seems a little over the top...
