I think it was Tam Cowan who wondered how curiously few call-offs there would be, 'before the week's training in La Manga and the glamour friendly against Brasil'...

I'd be very surprised if anyone from United was considered for this game. Kenneth, Conway and Dixon have all been injured recently and Goodie's obviously been omitted for non-footballing reasons. I suppose the only player who could have been in contention would be Scott Robertson but he's not had his injury problems to seek either. |

I knew him briefly when I was younger and we both still lived in Arbroath. I always remembered a really nice guy and, like you, could never fathom the coverage he received. Speaking to a mutual friend years later, I got the impression that he never really lost his 'Arbroath-ness' and, consequently, didn't get on with the people that make up the bulk of the London meeja scene.
