F*ck knows what's going on, but seems Arab Trust have been bumped from the board due to some sort of issue with Mike Barile, who represents the AT.

The Arab Trust have issued an extremely enlightening statement.

Nothing to see there, then.

Courier has the non-story story.

Mike Barile falls foul of Dundee United board

Dundee United have suspended the associate directorship of supporters' group ArabTRUST from the board.

The development does not mark a fall-out between the fans and those running the Tangerines — rather it is a move against the ArabTRUST representative Mike Barile.

It is understood the club asked Mr Barile to step down as associate director but he declined, leaving them to take this action.

The suspension is likely to be lifted if or when another person is appointed by the trust to represent them in the Tannadice boardroom.

In a separate development, fans can expect another associate director to join United in the coming weeks.

I can't be arsed scanning the other messageboards to see what Mr Barile's been posting under whichever anonymous pseudonyms he's using. If anyone can be arsed, feel free to repeat what they find here.

Take your pick:

Gibby Haggard is leeching money from United and is up to something.
John Bennet is behind the unrest and wants to take control from ST.
Some sort of misuse of funds by Barile.
I dinnae ken a thing but it's bound to be ST's fault as I don't like the cut of his jib.

United Mad is not an easy read. EF seem to be going on whatever was said on Mad. Nothing on it, or much else, round at Gollum's.

Oh Gollum, what have you done with your preciouss?

It all sounds a bit cheap and dull. Not sure of Haggard's role, or much about any of it really.

UtdMad seem to have people in the know though, even if what that is is hard to know.

There seems to be talk of UFC2 being at the root of it too, whatever that is. The only UFC i've ever seen involved steroid taking nutters wearing spangly tights and fake tan. Could be interesting times at Tannadice if so.

United Mad is not an easy read.
As I say, I can't face trying to detect a signal among the noise on that site.

So let's suppose, for the sake of argument, that there is a schism in the boardroom. Punting Barile achieves what exactly? He can, at most, be a supporter of whichever one's causing the disquiet. Punting him in this rather undignified way adds nothing other than a guarantee the details of the alleged schism become public knowledge. It doesn't make sense to me. ET surely knows that it's smarter to keep your enemies inside the tent.

I'm therefore minded to assume, unless proven otherwise, that Barile was simply a pain in the arse.

RThe plot, such as it is, thickens. Or densifies. Well, there's a statement.

Posted Thursday 17th March 2011

ArabTRUST's monthly Board meeting took place at Club 83 tonight. The issue of ArabTRUST's Associate Directorship was discussed at length after the position was suspended by Dundee United Football Club on Tuesday.

Following a full discussion, Mike Barile tendered his resignation as Associate Director as he felt strongly that this would be in the best interests of ArabTRUST and Dundee United.

Mike remains a Board member with our full support and we now intend to invite Dundee United into consultation with a view to appointing a new ArabTRUST Associate Director.

Translation, anyone? This toytown committee stuff drives me up the f*cking tree.

Still nothing? Still no more than uninformed gumflappery across the many sources available to us?

Surely someone, somewhere, was at the ArabTrust meeting and able to talk about it first hand. Because, if not, then who on earth does Arabtrust represent?

D'oh, I should really stop smoking crack on a school night, was mixing up the drug fuelled fighting championships there. Apologies.

Back to the point, let's hope there was justification for Barile to be removed from being the representative on the board for the Arab Trust as otherwise it doesn't look good for the club to be deciding who is allowed to represent the fans.

When can I attend an ArabTRUST meeting?
Board meetings are held approximately once each month but it would be unrealistic to invite the entire membership to attend these but if you as a member wish to come along to a Board meeting you should contact the Secretary to arrange this. All members will, of course, be invited to the Annual General Meeting where many major decisions will be made and election of Board members will take place. Also, throughout the life of ArabTRUST, it may be necessary to obtain the views of the entire membership on a matter and in this case a special meting would be arranged. We intend to hold quarterly meetings with the membership and also with representatives of the Board of Dundee United.

Do we have anyone who's a member?

Sum contribution to date, I gave them £15 or whatever and they sent me a little cardboard certificate.
