I really hate John Sutton.
I wish we'd sign him. The big, dirty bastard.

We already have Jon Daly. Bring in Sutton as competition/understudy and then Houston has no excuse for keeping the hunk.

Is that a reasonable suggestion? Once Goodie goes for £10M in the summer we'd surely be able to spare £100k for Sutton (or y'know, whatever). How much does a John Sutton cost these days?

Hard to say what the hell anyone costs these days.

That second goal by Sutton was a cracker - and not one that Daly would have scored.

I'm no expert on the works of Mr Sutton, but he looks much more like a footballer than Daly does. Sort of large and bony - almost painful to look at, whereas JD is large and rounded, a bit like a marshmallow. So on that basis, Sutton is clearly the better of the two. Sign him up, Housty!

As for the historical comparisons, was surprised to read that it was actually the round before the quarters that we beat Motherwell in in '94, it was Airdrie in the Quarters and we took 2 games to beat them as well, not that I recall much about those games. :conf:
I have absolutely no recollection of playing Airdrie in the cup that year. None. Zippo. Zilch.

Probably for the best
Glad I'm not the only one Findus....

Think I'll use the excuse that I lived in a shared house of mostly non-football fans and I was supposed to be studying for my finals in March '94... :lager:

So, how many times has everyone watched Goodrooy's overhead kick so far?

I think I'm around 20.

That's the draw Motherwell and us wanted, I imagine.

I can't get excited about the semi final cos I can't see us winning at Fir Park.

I'll second that Conan...

Think the Fir Park bog will suit their style of play better than ours. :fisted:

We'll need a big support in Motherwell for the replay. It would be good if Stephen Thompson could subsidise the buses for the replay. We need to win this game. Kenneth to score the winning goal in the replay.

Just seen the goals again. Credit to Keith Watson (whose distribution I've criticized) for spotting Swanny's run and playing the perfect ball for him to cross for the 2nd goal. Goodroy's goal was also from a Watson cross. Well done Watson, looking more solid, composed and energetic every time I see him.

Considering the recent thread on Thommo Jnr, I'm giving gordo big ups for his semi-serious, semi-baiting post. Caught an Egg-fish! :banshk:

There's never been anything wrong with Watson's attacking instincts, it's the defensive ones which are suspect.
