I think we can give the strikers a rest with the penaltys. Leave the penaltys to someone like Dixon.
It could have been worse with Goody he could have had his penalty saved in Dingwall.
A good start for a change. Just before we scored there was about 30 late arrivals came in blocking my view so i just saw the ball in the net.
We were going well in the first half then Kenneth almost gives away a goal, then gets injured . I thought Pernis could have done better with Hearts first rather than spilling it in front of Skacel.

So we came away withought any points. Not a good day for us with Motherwell and Inverness both winning. We'll need to start winning again soon starting with Perth on tuesday.
Oh yeah, completely forgot about the first goal (must have willed it from my memory).
Pernis became the first goalkeeper ever to try to punch out a cross. With his palms. Whilst lying on the ground.

Our goal was lovely. Good cross and a deft header from Douglas.

edit- it may have come off the defender's knee...

Sunday Herald match report reckoned van der Meulen was culpable for both Hearts goals. And Houston said as much after the match. And they reckoned Hearts deserved the win in a poor match. None of which I got from the BBC commentary.

Yeah, well the highlights certainly didn't mention the sheer number of leg-breakers doled out to United players, and the total lack of punishment of the offenders. It was like watching a sunday league grudge match between Paul McStay CSC and Ibrox Loyal Lodge Strollers. I have not seen a dirtier performance by a professional football team in many years. United were by far the better footballing team, and bar the odd mistake by our defence and the constant professional fouling by Black, Jonsson and Santana we were all over them. As Reekie's dad said on the way out, we were cheated.

Well, Richard Winton evidently decided on his 'angle' and stuck to it.
What a curious piece, totally at odds with the game I saw.

Sounded like a decent performance that deserved more than the kick in the baws that was the last few minutes of play...

Re the 1st goal, Van der Meulen was certainly a bit slow to react but it would be a bit harsh to blame him completely as Pernis' attempted save from the initial shot was uncharacteristically poor. Sounds like he'll get a bit more game time in the coming weeks with Kenneth's knee injury keeping him out for 3 weeks (meaning he'll miss about 15 games...) so lets hope he improves his understanding with the rest of the defence quickly.

After the experience of finishing 3rd last season and entering the Europa League cold against a seeded team we may just have dodged a bullet by letting Hearts consolidate 3rd spot anyway.

If we can keep playing as well and go on a bit of a run the season could still be rescued. Oh and the Old Firm derby certainly put our last game against Celtic in perspective, it could be said that we did well to run them so close.

:D :banjmp:

A great opperchancity to give the boy games. If he comes on a game then we may have our new centre-back pairing in him and Kenny. Where that leaves Dillon, I'm not sure... worth sticking with Watson at right-back to give him extended experience?

EDIT: and where the hell is Scott Severin still?!?!

As long as it's not in central midfield, I'm happy. I can see him being pushed there if Gomis moves on though.

Dillon at right back; Watson on loan to a club where his particular skills will be better appreciated; Severin in the physio's room.

I must admit, for Watson's supposed potential, I'd much rather have Dillon at RB. At least, for now. We need all the experience we can get.

If Winton is anything like most of the people I've sat near at Tannadice, it's hardly surprising he down on the team from start to finish.
