Me neither.
People don't seem to realise that being in charge of a ton of high-velocity, solid metal is something to be taken seriously. You can't drive around city centres at nearly three-times the speed limit. You just can't.

This is a perfect opportunity for United to rake in the cash with a players' theatrical take on the borstal classic Scum at the Rep.
My money's on Darren Dods playing the Daddy.

I wouldn't argue too hard against all drink drivers getting a little bit of bird. Even if you're half a glass of wine over?
To qualify: I'm not defending drink-driving. It's not a black and white issue, though, so a blanket custodial sentence would do more harm than good.
Edit: Regarding Kovacevic - going 104 in a 40 zone is out of order, but what purpose is sending him to the slammer going to serve? Wouldn't a hefty fine, a long driving ban (5 years or something), and a suspended sentence that can be called in if he does anything similar in the future, be more practical?

That's exactly the sort of penalty he should get. Unfortunately, he's more likely to get a small fine and short ban with no prospect of prison at any point.
There was a wee boy killed in Kirkcaldy a few years ago by some arsehole doing 75 (or thereabouts) on a 40. The boy was knocked 40 yards apparently when he was hit. The prick doing the driving had several previous convictions for driving offences and was jailed for 3 years (I think). In any event, he was due to serve his entire driving ban while in prison.
The courts seem very reluctant to take away someone's right to drive, even someone who has proven conclusively that they can't be trusted behind the wheel.

It's a bizarre one, I've never quite understood how in the cases of, "Johnny McNapperson was banned from driving for 18 months (his 4th ban in 6 years) years at court yesterday for racking up his 11th speeding/dangerous/drink-driving offense", why is Johnny not banned from driving for 40 years, or some other 'you'll never drive again, nugget' length of time? What is the maximum length of time a court can ban someone from driving?

Or where 15 year-olds are banned from driving for 3 years, starting from then (unless I've misunderstood the...erm...Daily Mail/Metro*), which means, at most, a 1 year ban.
*I don't read either.

I see people doing things on the road that should have them banned from driving for a long, long time, and unless they've just passed their test, I doubt they haven't already had a ban of some sort.

There's a post on Pie and Bovril that sums up my feelings on the matter, so I'll quote that. I like copy and paste. - Quote:
-
I am genuinely concerned about the apparent absence of discipline and basic professionalism at our club. It's easy to lapse into sanctimonious bluster about irreseponsible young football players with too much money and too little brain cells, and their supposed position as 'role models'; but ultimately the club's name is becoming synonymous with front page exclusives and criminal charges - and that's not to mention the as yet unpublished rumours concerning a certain member of the boardroom. There appears to be a group of young players, with Goodwillie at the centre of it, needing a severe boot in the testicles. The worry is that there is no one at the club with the gumption to do it. I can't imagine things getting to this critical stage during Levein's reign.
With thanks to shedboy82, whoever you are.
Art, can you name me a football club (they all employ young men) who haven't had a player/players in some kind of trouble or other. I'm kind of getting fed up now with all this stuff about a member of the board who has supposed to have done...? what exactly?
To be fair, I have no idea about this allegation and probably should not have included that part. Come to me for your unsourceable grapevine needs
I've heard from an Aberdeen-supporting mate th- should I just stop now?
I've heard from the above that Stephen Thompson has knocked up a stewardess, that Mrs. Thompson is going to divorce him and take half his wealth, and that they are trying to mute the scandal.
There. I feel dirty.
