A Dundee United player has been arrested on assault charges after an alleged weekend fracas in Stirling.
Dale Hilson (18) appeared with three co-accused at Stirling Sheriff Court and all four youths pled not guilty to two charges of assault.

I'm still sure it all works out with averages, but Goodwillie, Douglas, Allan, Swanson, Hilson now all been some involvement with police recently?
To be fair, Swanson just got battered, I believe. So that's .. erm ... just the four mental radges in the last two weeks.
Don't forget Kova doing 104 in a 40.
Quite right.

:hat:
Of course, non of the rest of us law abiding citizens has ever driven above the speed limit :'(

Ever done 104 in a 40?

I've never done 64mph over the speed limit.

Dock Street is hardly an area filled with pedestrians. It's a big wide road and I'll bet many of us haven't driven at anywhere near 40 along it. Hardly a crime of the centuary.

Fastest I've ever done is 125mph on a country road (probably a 60 limit) before I began to shite it thinking the car was going to take off....

And, as if things weren't bad enough for Goodwillie, his Twitter account has been suspended...

Hope you're the sheriff he gets, Yass. Otherwise, he could be looking at a prison sentence. The law doesn't mind too much people speeding a bit - might give you three points or maybe even six - but when you're going in any urban area at well over double the speed limit, they tend to see that as dangerous driving by definition. I'm inclined to agree. I would not allow cars to be built able to travel at over 100mph: there's never an excuse for it on British roads.

No matter who he plays for, doing 104 in a 40 is well worth a custodial sentence in my book.

What time of day did it happen? If it was late at night/wee sma hours with an empty road it was hardly a flogging offence was it.

Not flogging - just prison.

No excuse whatsoever for 104 in a 40.

Sorry thats a way over the top for what I assume is a first offence. Going by your logic ALL drink drivers (a by far more serious crime) should be banged up.

Nope, passed test in '74. Never been caught doing anything wrong but can't deny that I've ignored the speed limit at times. Name me a driver who hasn't

Breaking the speed limit isn't the issue. Breaking the speed limit by 64mph is the issue. I might not be too fussed if it was 124mph in a clear country road or 134mph (gulp) on the motorway, but in an urban, 40mph zone, that is disgraceful.

If you don't think that's worth the jail, how fast would someone have to go in a 40 zone?

Depends on the time and location. Obviously if it was in say a housing scheme mid afternoon as the kids came out school compared to a late night dock street with little or no pedestrians or traffic. Seeing as its likely to be his first offence I would assume a fine and ban will suffice. Jail seems a bit draconian unless as I said earlier all drink drivers are to be jailed as well.

I wouldn't argue too hard against all drink drivers getting a little bit of bird.
