Correct me if I am wrong. I thought the police in Scotland forwarded info to the PFs office and it is the PF who decides if there is enough evidence to charge or not to charge not.
Not exactly. The Police decide on the initial charge and then forward the case to the PF or the Crown Office (depending on the nature or severity of the alleged offence) to decide whether there is enough evidence to proceed with a prosecution.
Sorry, my knowledge of criminal procedures in Scotland is based entirely on what I could glean from Ross Harper adverts during Scotland Today. I will revise therefore to 'the police have charged him and the case has been forwarded to the Procurator Fiscal (or Crown Office), which is further then the majority of rape allegations get'. Actually, I think most rape complaints probably fall at the next stage.

Actually, I think most rape complaints probably fall at the next stage. Well most rapes don't even get reported. Isn't the conviction rate under 3% or similar?
Of course, I'm not speculating either way whether we have a rape here or not. In fact, this is my last post on the subject.
EVER.

There's a post on Pie and Bovril that sums up my feelings on the matter, so I'll quote that. I like copy and paste.

I am genuinely concerned about the apparent absence of discipline and basic professionalism at our club. It's easy to lapse into sanctimonious bluster about irreseponsible young football players with too much money and too little brain cells, and their supposed position as 'role models'; but ultimately the club's name is becoming synonymous with front page exclusives and criminal charges - and that's not to mention the as yet unpublished rumours concerning a certain member of the boardroom. There appears to be a group of young players, with Goodwillie at the centre of it, needing a severe boot in the testicles. The worry is that there is no one at the club with the gumption to do it. I can't imagine things getting to this critical stage during Levein's reign.
With thanks to shedboy82, whoever you are.

EVER. Which is why we're unlikely to ever know the truth of the allegation.

With thanks to shedboy82, whoever you are. Art, can you name me a football club (they all employ young men) who haven't had a player/players in some kind of trouble or other. I'm kind of getting fed up now with all this stuff about a member of the board who has supposed to have done...? what exactly?

I'm not overly concerneded - these things seem to go around from club to club depending on few factors. But the main lacking one might be general discipline. A few players have had a couple of chances now, hopefully the other ones who've been in trouble with the police won't get into anymore. If they did, then that's more worrying.

Goodwillie will surely have had the benefit of good legal advice, which is probably to say nothing. Seems so.

A source last night told the Record: "Goodwillie was arrested. He refused to answer any questions and DNA samples were taken from him and the girl.

That was the point I was making, albeit in a rather ham-fisted way.

A Dundee United player has been arrested on assault charges after an alleged weekend fracas in Stirling. Dale Hilson (18) appeared with three co-accused at Stirling Sheriff Court and all four youths pled not guilty to two charges of assault.
I'm still sure it all works out with averages, but Goodwillie, Douglas, Allan, Swanson, Hilson now all been some involvement with police recently?

Did our club make some sort of collective New Year resolution to get f*cked up and cause trouble?
